The Kansas City Chiefs fell to the Chicago Bears Youth Chris Conley Jersey , 27-20, Saturday afternoon in their third preseason game of the season. Here were the snap counts for the Chiefs:OffenseDefenseStarters (offense): QB Patrick Mahomes, RB Kareem Hunt, TE Travis Kelce, WR Tyreek Hill, WR Sammy Watkins, WR Chris Conley, LT Eric Fisher, LG Cam Erving, C Mitch Morse, RG Andrew Wylie, RT Mitch SchwartzStarters (defense): NT Derrick Nnadi, RDE Jarvis Jenkins, LDE Chris Jones, LOLB Justin Houston, LILB Anthony Hitchens, RILB Reggie Ragland, ROLB Dee Ford, LCB Dave Amerson, RCB Kendall Fuller, SS Leon McQuay Youth Chris Jones Jersey , FS Eric MurrayDid not play: QB Matt McGloin, WR Josh Crockett, WR Jordan Smallwood, CB Steve Nelson, RB Kerwynn Williams, S Eric Berry, CB Keith Reaser, FB Algeron Brown, RB Ray Lawry, CB Step Durham, S Daniel Sorensen, LB Otha Peters, OL Jimmy Murray, OL Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, WR Daniel Braver, WR Blake Mack, DE Allen Bailey, DT Xavier WilliamsTakeaways (in no particular order)Spencer Ware played 23 offensive snaps in his preseason debut.De’Anthony Thomas only played four offensive snaps in his preseason debut. The amount of offensive snaps worries me for Thomas. If Chiefs find that Tremon Smith is capable as a kick and punt returner, Thomas’ role on the team could become obsolete, giving way for the Chiefs to keep some younger wide receivers with greater upside.Speaking of those receivers, Marcus Kemp had 14 offensive snaps and 12 special-teams snaps Womens Anthony Hitchens Jersey , Gehrig Dieter had 13 offensive snaps and two special-teams snaps and Jehu Chesson had only three special-teams snaps. I think Kemp, who used his playing time to score a touchdown, is shaping up to be the Chiefs’ final receiver kept at the 53-man cutdown.Demetrius Harris, who is suspended Week 1, had just four offensive snaps. After sitting last week against the Falcons, rookie Chase Litton took all 11 third-team reps at quarterback this week.Safety Leon McQuay led all Chiefs defenders in defensive snaps with 45.In their preseason debut, Anthony Hitchens saw 43 defensive plays while Reggie Ragland saw 33. Perhaps Hitchens is a little further along.Tanoh Kpassagnon and Breeland Speaks were at outside linebacker for 31 defensive snaps; Starters Justin Houston and Dee Ford played 11.Chris Jones barely played. He was on the field for six snaps.Andy Reid says new CB Charvarius Ward won’t start right away The Kansas City Chiefs officially announced the acquisition of cornerback Charvarius Ward on Friday morning. The Chiefs sent offensive lineman Parker Ehinger to the Cowboys in exchange for Ward, an undrafted rookie out of Middle Tennessee State. “I’ve had a chance to look at Charvarius and he’s a big kid that’s really had a pretty good training camp for them,” Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said of the 22-year-old undrafted rookie. “He’s somebody that will come in and work into that mix there. He’s young, so we’re not bringing him in to be the starter or any of that, but he sure is a nice addition to that group.”Ward recorded seven tackles and two passes defensed during the 2018 preseason. “It was surprising. I thought I played good enough to stick around, but God has got different plans for me,” Ward said Thursday night, via Cowboys.com. “I’ve just got to take advantage of the opportunity.”Then on Friday morning, retweeted NFL Network contributor Bobby Belt: The Chiefs parted ways with Ehinger, who former general manager John Dorsey selected out of Cincinnati in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Ehinger started four games for the Chiefs as a rookie in 2016 but tore his ACL.The 25-year-old could never find his way back into the Chiefs starting lineup. “[The Cowboys] needed offensive linemen,” Reid added. “They’ve been checking on our group there and Parker will go in and do a nice job for them, and we appreciate everything he did here and how he fought back from his injury to get himself back to where he is now. He did a nice job.”The Chiefs last listed Ehinger as their backup left tackle.“They wanted him and we wanted Charvarius, so it all worked out well. I thought it was good for both teams.”Obviously, Ward is a lock to make the Chiefs’ 53-man roster when it is announced Saturday afternoon. He is listed in our 53-man roster projection.
